About Tiu Teja Waterfall
This waterfall is at an altitude of 700 MASL and is in the Santong Community Forest area.
Tiu Teja comes from the Sasak language, which Tiu means “pool” while Teja means “rainbow” so Tiu Teja means rainbow pool.
Local residents gave this name because rainbows often appear around the waterfall due to the refraction of sunlight by the spots of the waterfall.
Another nickname for the Tiu Teja waterfall is “twin waterfalls” because when the water discharge is high there are two springs side by side.
